Route 5: Fethiye - Rhodos - Symi - Marmaris

1st Day:

Arrival and embarkment on the yacht in Fethiye. With a welcome cocktail, you will get to know the crew and your fellow travelers. In Fethiye you can make a walk to the Lycian rock caves or ancient Telmessos. Overnight stay in the port of Fethiye.(1st night)

2nd Day:

After breakfast, we drive to a bay where you can swim, snorkel and relax. After lunch we will travel to the natural harbor of Aga, where you can make a small island hike. The charming bay is also the scenery for dinner.

3.rd Day:

Today we will start early, before sunrise in the direction of Rhodes, the largest island in the Dodecanese and the fourth largest of Greece. In Rhodes ancient sites, monasteries, beautiful bays and a unique city will invite you to a visit. This day is completely available to explore Rhodes Town on your own. The old city of Rhodes is protected as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. form the Mandraki port you can easily reach on foot the Old Town and almost all attractions. We can recommended a visit of the Grand Masters Palace, the Knight Street, the clock tower and the town walls. Dinner and overnight stay will be in the port of Rhodes.

4.th Day:

Today you will have the opportunity to explore the 77 kilometre long island of Rhodes by a jeep safari (+ / - 35 € pp). Here you will be chauffeured across the island to learn more about the country and its people. You will not only  explore different villages, but also get to see the fantastic beaches of the island. In the evening you will come back with many new impressions  into the port of Rhodes, where we spend the night.

5th Day:

Today the way leads us to Symi, a small island about 67 square miles - in comparison, Rhodes has approximately 1300 square kilometers), where approximately 3,000 inhabitants are living. The island of Symi is certainly one of most beautiful islands in the Aegean Sea. In the past, the island was famous for its sponge divers. Even today, there are some sponge divers on the island, but this industry sector is no longer important. Nevertheless, there are still some sale stands on Symi where sponges are sold and a workshop where sponges are processed.

Afterwards we will pass the offshore island Seksli into a bay near the Monastery Panormitis. Even the trip along the coast of Symi, with its  bizarre rocks is an experience. The monastery is situated in a sheltered bay and is visible rather late. The two museums that are located in the buildings of the monastery are worth visiting. In a nearby bay, we will spend the night.

6th Day:

As the main port of Symi in the summer months is crowded of daily boats from Rhodes, we prefer to anchor in the idyllic bay Nanou for lunch. In the late afternoon we will drive into the harbor of Gialos. The entrance to the port of Symi town, consisting of the districts and Horio and Jalos, reminiscent of a fjord, and the port itself is probably one of the most beautiful and romantic in the Aegean. From the port, old mansions are situated steep to the upper town - an unforgettable sight and a great photo opportunity. In the small harbor there are fishing boats and yachts , fishermen sit at the quay and mend their nets - a truly great scenery. With a little walk you can explore the village on foot.

Here we will spend the night in the harbor.

7th Day

We leave the Greek waters and head towards Marmaris. Before we enter this afternoon again the port of Marmaris, we will , of course, make another bathing stop, in a beautiful bay. In Marmaris you can visit a Turkish hammam, or on a shopping tour buy the last few gifts for the home remained. We will spend the last night in the port of Marmaris.

8th Day:

A last breakfast on board, bevor it is time to say goodbye to the crew and to start the transfer to the airport of Dalaman.
